Shoppers praise Aldi kitchen gadget which means you’ll ‘never run out of ice’

With a four-day bank holiday weekend and months of summer weather, there’s no better time to stock up on the Aldi Specialbuys that will make hosting the family barbecues and garden gatherings a breeze. And shoppers have declared one Aldi gadget a ‘best buy’ for when the drinks are flowing.

The budget supermarket has brought back their Ambiano Ice Cube Machine which is said to make ice cubes within 10 minutes. The product was extremely popular last year, and is set to fly off the virtual shelves again in 2022.

There’s simply nothing worse than it getting to a sunny Saturday afternoon and realising you’ve not refilled your ice cube trays only to have to do a supermarket dash to discover they’ve gone none in the freezers either.

So Aldi’s kitchen gadget comes to the rescue ready to fill your wine buckets, beer coolers and cocktail dispensers to keep your drinks ice cold.

Aldi said: “Enjoy chilled drinks whenever you need them with the Ambiano Ice Cube Machine. Choose from small or large ice cubes to pair with your drink of choice. This digital ice cube machine will help you focus on enjoying the summer sun while your drink remains chilled, cool and refreshing on the side.”

The price tag isn’t exactly cheap, but shoppers have said the £79.99 investment is worth it, describing it as one of their ‘best buys’ ever.

The machine can make two different sizes of ice cubes in seven to 10 minutes depending on size, and has indicator lights for when the water tank is empty or the ice bucket is full. It has anti-slip feet, overheating protection and its own self-cleaning function, too.

One customer, who goes by the username DevonMaid, said it’s their favourite Aldi buy, topping their milk frother and egg chair. They wrote: “This Ice Machine seems expensive. It has paid for itself over and over again since I bought it pre-summer last year in 2021. I have used it for making iced coffee – four cubes of ice into the milk frother (another fantastic Aldi item) add milk pulse on cold setting and a magical iced coffee is a real bonus.

“We are still meeting people outdoors and I prepare extra ice earlier in the day and put the ice into bags then into the freezer so that we have sufficient for the Pimms or the ice buckets.”

The shopper described the product as easy to clean, and even used the water left over after to water their potted plants. They added: “Being able to make ice is a true luxury and has been a life-saver in the summer. Remember this is fresh tasting ice and does not taint the flavour like freezer ice can do if it has been left by the fish too long, for example.

“I would urge anyone who doesn’t drink enough water to invest in one of these. It remains a best buy for me -even better than the egg-chair (which we love!).”

Twitter user @rach0907 added: “I recently bought an ice cube machine and it’s bloody fantastic. Was running constantly for a few days last weekend! Good old @AldiUK!”

And shopper Donna, who bought their ice machine in 2021, rated it five stars, writing: “Whilst appears expensive, this is one of the best buys I’ve made in a while for a gadget. We use it all year through and never run out of ice anymore.

“This machine has paid for itself two fold already as we use lots of ice and it’s never restricted. I would highly recommend this item and wouldn’t be without one now. Great product and a great price for this amazing little machine.”

The Ambiano Ice Cube Machine is available to pre-order on the Aldi website, with a dispatch date from May 22, when it should also hit store shelves.
